Stara Novalja is a village on the northern part of the island of Pag in Croatia. The economy is based on tourism, sheep farming, fishing and viticulture. It is known for the remains of the old ancient waterworks, for its rich underwater life, amphorae, diving tourism, sandy beaches, olive groves, and for its gastronomic specialties (lamb, fish, Pag cheese and good wine). It is home to the old ferry pier "Drljanda", where the depth of the sea reaches up to 38 meters. Small boats and yachts are moored inside the bay. Stara Novalja is a quiet tourist place that offers apartment accommodation, rooms and other tourist services.The largest beach in the bay of Stara Novalja is a sandy beach called "Trincel" or "Planjka". There are small sandy beaches along the entire bay.The climate is mild, Mediterranean. The swimming season starts in May and ends in October.
