Nordstrand: The (half) island of Nordstrand "the green heart of the Wadden Sea" is located in the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, in the middle of the unique world of the Halligen and surrounded by nature reserves.
Sports and active holidays: cycling, swimming (in the North Sea or in the seawater swimming pool), surfing, inline skating, Nordic walking, fishing, golf, minigolf, horse riding, hang-gliding. Leisure activities and highlights: - Nordstrander Music Days in May, July and August - Nordstrander Skater Days - Nordstrander Hiking Days - Horse and cart ride through the Wadden Sea landscape to Hallig Südfall. - Carriage ride across our Wadden Sea (semi-)island of Nordstrand. - Excursions with the Adler ships from Nordstrand to Amrum, Sylt and the Halligen. - Mudflat walks - sightseeing flights over the North Sea and its Hallig world. - Excursions to Husum, Seebüll, Friedrichstadt, Tönnig or to Denmark: The best way to get here by car is to take the A23 motorway, which becomes the B5 at Heide. Exit at Husum-Südufer and then follow the signs to Schobüll and Nordstrand. Take the train to Husum and from there continue by bus or taxi to Nordstrand.
Nordstrand is ideal for cyclists, hikers and inline skaters. It has a well-developed network of cycle paths and footpaths which (along the motorway embankment) extend all the way to the mainland.
